Ori

Ori means “head” in Yoruba. It’s the same concept as fate and before you are born, you have to go to the headmaker Ajala and get a good one to come to earth with.

As is obvious from the nightly news, it’s very easy to select a bad one (”one that hasn’t been baked, and a big , useless one (Ori Buruku) with a fragile shell”).
